How true can this statement get? Since it is a statement, my interpretation of it is that learning can do magic, in all aspects of life. Be it sports, entertainment or cutting it short, education and technology for that matter.

Technology is ruling the world, not all for good reasons, but milestone like Mission mars got accomplishment because of it. Cheers to the Nation! (India became the first country to successfully place a spacecraft into Mars orbit on its maiden attempt).

Talking about machine learning, it is a concept which allows the machine to learn from examples and experience. The machines don’t write the codes and instead of that data is fed in the generic algorithm. The algorithm that machine builds is the logic based on the given data.

In simple terms, it can be defined as a field of computer science which uses statistical techniques to give computer systems the ability to “learn”. This helps to progressively improve performance on a specific task with data. So, without being explicitly programmed, this can be done. For example – in education, we see machine learning in learning analytics and artificial intelligence working successfully.


Machine learning in education is a form of personalized learning that could be used to give each student an individualized educational experience. Here, the students are guided for their own learning, can follow the pace they want and make their own decisions about what to learn.

Similarly, machine learning in the form of artificial intelligence is used to grade student assignments and exams more accurately than a human can. Though some input from humans is required. But, the best results will have higher validity and reliability when a machine does the work as there are higher reliability and low chances of error.

With the rising importance and awareness about education in the rural as well as urban areas, changes are being seen. It is rightly said that ‘If you educate a man you educate an individual, but if you educate a woman you educate a family (nation)’.
